Author Guidelines

PUBLICATION GUIDELINES

Authors wishing to publish in the Multidisciplinary Journal of Sciences, Discoveries, and Society must submit their manuscripts via email to sciencesdiscoveriesandsociety@gmail.com or through the journal’s online system. Only unpublished manuscripts not under simultaneous review elsewhere will be accepted.

Manuscripts may be published in Spanish or English, provided that at least one of the authors is a native speaker or the manuscript has been translated by a professional.

Manuscript format and structure

Submissions must be in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx), using Garamond font, size 12, with 1.15 line spacing. The paper size should be A4.

Manuscript structure:

  • Length: between 11 and 20 pages (3,500 to 8,000 words).

  • Title: in Spanish and English, with a maximum of 15 words.

  • Author information: include email address, ORCID identifier (e.g., https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2237-7613), and institutional affiliation.

  • Abstract: in Spanish and English, with a maximum of 240 words.

  • Keywords: three to five in both languages, separated by commas.

  • Body of the text for research articles: Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions. For other types of articles: Development and Conclusions.

Additional elements:

  • Page numbering: pages must be numbered in the center of the footer.

  • Tables and figures: must be numbered in the order they appear. Titles should be placed above the tables and figures. Figures must be submitted in .jpg or .png format, with a maximum width of 10 cm and size of 100 KB.

  • Footnotes: numbered using Arabic numerals, with a maximum length of 60 words.

  • Appendices: must be referenced in the text and placed at the end of the document.

Citations and references

Citations and references must adhere to APA Style, 7th edition. Authors are responsible for citation accuracy. A minimum of 15 references is required, preferably from the last five years, with priority given to articles indexed in Scopus or SciELO. References should be listed alphabetically at the end of the manuscript, using a hanging indent.

Examples:

  • Book: Lastname, A. A. (Year). Title of the book. Publisher.

  • Journal article: Lastname, A. A. (Year). Title of the article. Journal Name, volume(issue), xx–xx.

Plagiarism policy

The editorial board uses specialized software to detect similarities with existing publications, ensuring the originality of submissions.

Privacy statement

The names and email addresses provided to the journal will be used exclusively for editorial purposes and will not be shared with third parties.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
