Sapiens EduTech International Journal (SETIJ) – 2023
Sapiens EduTech International Journal (SETIJ) upholds an unwavering commitment to the highest ethical standards in academic publishing, ensuring integrity, transparency, and academic rigor throughout the editorial process. The journal adheres to the Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), applied to the fields of education, educational technology, and related disciplines. Below are the core ethical principles adopted by the journal. For further details, please consult the official documentation of COPE and ICMJE.
Editorial independence and fair assessment
The Editorial Board evaluates manuscripts solely on academic merit, originality, clarity, methodological soundness, and relevance to SETIJ’s scope, without discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, nationality, or institutional affiliation. Editorial decisions are made independently of external pressures and rest entirely with the Editor-in-Chief.
Confidentiality
All information related to submitted manuscripts is treated with strict confidentiality. Access is limited to the editorial staff, peer reviewers, and the corresponding author during the evaluation process.
Conflicts of interest and disclosure
The use of unpublished material for personal, institutional, or commercial gain is strictly prohibited. In cases of conflict of interest involving an editor and any of the authors, institutions, or funders, the editor must recuse themselves from the review process and delegate it to another qualified editorial member.
All research must comply with the ethical standards applicable in the country or region where the study is conducted. Authors are responsible for obtaining prior ethical approval from relevant institutional boards or ethics committees.
When manuscripts include images, testimonies, or sensitive information from individuals, authors must ensure anonymity and privacy, in accordance with the ICMJE Recommendations on the conduct, reporting, editing, and publication of scholarly work in medical journals:
https://www.icmje.org/recommendations
Studies involving humans or animals must adhere to the ethical principles of the Declaration of Helsinki (latest revision). For research involving human participants, informed consent must be obtained and explicitly stated in the manuscript.
Randomized clinical, educational, or technological trials must be approved by a Research Ethics Committee (or equivalent body in accordance with local legislation), disclose funding sources, and be registered in a public clinical trial registry, such as ClinicalTrials.gov.
All authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the development, analysis, or publication of the study. This information must be stated in the manuscript. If no conflicts exist, the following statement should be included:
"Conflicts of interest: none."
If conflicts exist, authors must include the ICMJE Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form, available at:
https://www.icmje.org/disclosure-of-interest
The information in the form must match the disclosure included in the manuscript.
Authors must indicate the institutions or entities that provided financial support for the research and/or manuscript preparation, specifying their role in study design, data collection and analysis, manuscript writing, and decision to submit for publication.
If the study received no external funding, the following statement should be included:
"Funding: This research received no external financial support."
